With a voice "capable of sinister low chest tones and robust high notes that can express a gamut of emotions" (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) and a stage presence that has been called "a force to be dealt with" (Opera News), Lindsay Ammann is rapidly rising as a radiant star in the opera world. Possessing an instrument well-suited for the most dramatic of roles, Ms. Ammann is proving to be a future staple in the works of Verdi and Wagner.

In the 2012-13 season, Ms. Ammann begins with Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte and Flosshilde in Götterdämmerung, while covering Waltraute, in her debut with Stuttgart Opera. She then makes her Casals Festival debut in Puerto Rico as Brangäne in a concert version of Tristan und Isolde, and later will return to Stuttgart Opera to sing the role of Mary in Der Fliegende Holländer and Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos. Future engagements include Dame Quickly in Falstaff, Olga in Eugene Onegin, First Norn in Götterdämmerung, and a world premiere.

Ms. Ammann began the 2011-12 season singing the Alto Soloist in a fully staged production of Handel's Messiah with the Pittsburgh Symphony, followed by covering the role of Goffredo in Rinaldo with Lyric Opera of Chicago. She continued her relationship with the Metropolitan Opera as Rossweisse in Die Walküre.

In the 2010-11 season, Ms. Ammann finished her Resident Artist program with Pittsburgh Opera singing the roles of Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor and Goffredo in Rinaldo. She then made her Metropolitan Opera debut in Robert LePage's Ring Cycle as Rossweisse in Die Walküre under the baton of the great Maestro James Levine. Ms. Ammann spent the summer with the Wolf Trap Opera Company singing Beatrice in Le Donne Curiose and Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Ammann began her Resident Artist program with Pittsburgh Opera in the 2009-10 season. During that season, she sang the roles of Olga in Eugene Onegin, Dame Quickly in Falstaff, Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro and covered the title role of Carmen. She returned to the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis to sing Olga in Eugene Onegin.

While a Master's student at Indiana University, Ms. Ammann sang Dame Doleful in Too Many Sopranos, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Nettie Sloan/Aunt Bea in William Bolcom's A Wedding, and Cornelia in Giulio Cesare. As a young artist with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis for two seasons, she sang Kate Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly, Page of Heriodas in Salome, and covered Samira in The Ghosts of Versailles and Antonia's Mother in The Tales of Hoffman.

Ms. Ammann equally enjoys the concert stage, having sung the Verdi Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Elijah, Mahler Symphony No. 2 and Rossini's Petite messe solennelle with orchestras such as the Pittsburgh Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Sioux County Oratorio and Symphony, and the orchestra at Indiana University.

Having been recognized by many international competitions, Ms. Ammann was a National Semi-Finalist in the 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
